Thankful Thursday: Big Kids Helping Little Kids

I have had several recent chances to reflect on how much my big kids help my little kids learn, grow and navigate the world we live in. Even my middle guy helps his little brothers — sometimes he’s the little kids being helped and sometimes he is the big kid helping! It’s a good thing, [...]

Thankful Thursday: My Son Jonathan

I never did finish the Gratitude Challenge posts in November when I had planned to feature each of my children in a post, so I am continuing on now. My son Jonathan is amazing. He has always been wonderful about helping me when I need help. He is so strong, and all of his little [...]

Visiting With Family

We have had a wonderful time visiting with my parents (Neena and Papaw) this week. Today my Dad turned 74. To celebrate we went to the Pacific Ocean (Redondo Beach) and took pictures. We also ate at Panera! It was a beautiful sunny day.

Lemon Burst Cookies (Another Project from Pinterest)

I’ve been trying to use lots of ideas and recipes off of pinterest lately. I call it The Pinterest Project. Using Pinterest carefully is the key. It can be addictive. This and That: November 29, 2011

The holidays are a busy time at our house and I am sure most people can relate to that! We haven’t even gotten our tree up yet! (Gasp!!!) We started to put our fake tree up on Sunday night only to discover that it was just too big for the space we have. So, we [...]

Product Review and Giveaway! Star Wars Sandwich Cutters Set

The rest of the family is nuts about Star Wars. Seriously. My kids love absolutely everything about Star Wars. If they are given the choice to watch any movie they want, they will pick Star Wars five times in a row. My husband is not a crazy fan, but he is definitely a fan. [...]

Pom Pom Balls Game; Fine Motor Skills

I’ve been trying to get my two year old twins and my five year old involved in building better fine motor skills now, so that we don’t face occupational therapy down the line. I wish I had known how much more we could have been doing with Anna! I got Anna (my eight year [...]

The Clothespin Game; Fine Motor Skills

I first found this idea in The Toddler’s Busy Book by Trish Kuffner and I have used it for all six of my children.  It keeps them occupied and happy for twenty minutes or more.  What I didn’t know when I used it with my first child was that it also helps with fine motor [...]
