This Life I Live: A Week In Review

In My Life This Week…

I spent a bunch of time on the computer. Probably too much time. I started fixing up some things on my blog. I developed a proposal for someone considering my services as a brand new blog designer.

In Our Homeschool This Week…

My oldest children continue to flourish under our new system of accountability, and my daughter spent hours this week creating her “storyboards” for her six page short story due in three weeks. I am so excited to see her having this much fun. My six-year-old son has been reading close to 100 words per day. Each day we add ten more words to his list. We are keeping them in a little notebook. He has also started using an online Math curriculum and a new Spanish curriculum the last few weeks and we are having fun.

Places We Are Going and People We Are Seeing…

Last Friday afternoon, we joined some of our best friends at the local skating rink. I have never skated before, and of my children only one had skated before. My six-year-old rollerblades really well so he picked it up right away. Me, not so much. I spent most of my time “guiding” the twins around the rink using the handy dandy seal with handles. One of the twins would sit on his back, one of the twins would grab the handles and then I would grab the handles and push. I didn’t fall once, and I did eventually learn how to move one leg and push off side to side. Usually, whichever twin was standing would flail his legs out in an attempt to help and almost knock me down. I’m sure it was very funny to watch. I was certainly sore the next day!

My Favorite Thing This Week Was…

The skating rink. Hands down. Although, putting together a business proposal was pretty cool too.

Things I am Working On…

I am trying to make my blog more attractive and have started re-doing the images in my sidebar using picmonkey. I spent a lot of time re-arranging and studying. I found several new WordPress widgets that I absolutely love so my “You might also like” thumbnails at the bottom of each post are actually working now. (Thank you Outbrain.) I did not get any sewing done.

Pulled Pork and Potato Salad. Yummm.

I’m Grateful for…

Being able to sign up for the Content Brew class at MomComm.

I’m Praying for…

Calm, quiet evenings and rest for my husband this weekend. Wait, didn’t I say that last week? Oh yes, I am praying for the same things again.

I Rewarded My Kids this week by….

Giving them candy — specifically Brach’s Valentines Heartlines. Telling them “good job” as often as I could. Giving six “high fives” all day long on the day we learned about the number six.
